Not Alone โ€” your AI friend, forever

Last updated: June 5, 2026  ยท  Effective: June 5, 2026

The short version

  • We collect the messages, profile details, and media you share so your companion can talk with you and remember you over time.
  • Your messages are sent to trusted AI providers (such as Google) only to generate replies โ€” we never sell your data.
  • You can permanently delete everything at any time inside the app, or by emailing us.
  • Not Alone is for adults aged 18 and over.

1.Who we are

Not Alone ("Not Alone", "we", "us", or "our") is a mobile application that provides an AI companion you can chat with. The app is operated by codedays, the data controller responsible for your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Not Alone app on iOS or Android, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have. By downloading or using Not Alone, you agree to the practices described here.

If you have any questions, contact us at contact@codedays-digital.com.

2.Information we collect

We aim to collect only what we need to make your companion feel real, personal, and available whenever you need it.

a) Information you provide

  • Profile & setup details โ€” during onboarding you tell us things like your name, your companion's name, and gender/companion preferences. This shapes who your companion is.
  • Chat content โ€” the messages you send to your companion and the AI-generated replies. To provide continuity, we also generate and store short memories and summaries derived from your conversations.
  • Media you choose to share โ€” photos, images, and voice recordings you send within a conversation. These are uploaded to our servers and stored so your companion can reference them. You decide what, if anything, to share.
  • Support communications โ€” if you email us, we keep your messages and contact details to respond.

b) Information collected automatically

  • Device identifier โ€” when you first open the app, we generate a unique per-install identifier (a "device ID"). This acts as your account ID so we can save your companion, conversations, and preferences without requiring you to create a username or password.
  • Device & app information โ€” such as device model, operating system and version, app version, and language settings.
  • Usage & diagnostic data โ€” basic logs about how the app is used and technical events (for example, errors or crashes) so we can keep the service running and improve it.
  • Push notification token โ€” if you enable notifications, we store the push token your device provides so we can send you messages and reminders.

c) Subscriptions & purchases

Not Alone offers optional paid subscriptions. Purchases are processed by the Apple App Store and Google Play. We receive your subscription/entitlement status (for example, whether you have an active plan) but we never receive or store your full payment card or banking details โ€” those are handled directly by Apple or Google under their own privacy policies.

We do not collect your precise location, contacts, or browsing history, and we do not require you to provide your real name, email, or phone number to use the app.

3.How we use your information

We use the information described above to:

  • Provide the core service โ€” let your companion chat with you, respond in voice, and reference photos or memories you share.
  • Maintain continuity and personalization โ€” remember past conversations, your preferences, and details that matter to you so your companion feels consistent over time.
  • Send notifications you've enabled, such as proactive messages, reminders, and greetings.
  • Process and manage your subscriptions and provide customer support.
  • Keep the app safe, secure, and reliable, including detecting abuse and fixing bugs.
  • Understand how the app is used so we can improve features and the companion experience.
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where required by law, our legal bases for processing are your consent (which you can withdraw), performance of a contract (providing the app you asked for), and our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service.

4.AI processing & service providers

Not Alone is powered by artificial intelligence. To generate your companion's replies and features, the content of your conversations (and any media or voice you share for that purpose) is processed by trusted third-party providers acting as our service providers ("sub-processors"). These providers process your data only to perform services for us and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

We may add or change providers as the app evolves; we will keep this list reasonably up to date and continue to require appropriate safeguards from any provider that handles your data.

5.How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We only share information in these limited situations:

  • With service providers โ€” the sub-processors listed above, who help us operate the app under contractual confidentiality and security obligations.
  • For legal reasons โ€” if required by law, regulation, legal process, or a valid government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of you, us, or others.
  • Business transfers โ€” if Not Alone is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any change in ownership or use of your information.

6.Data retention

We keep your information for as long as you use the app, so your companion can remember you and provide continuity. Specifically, your profile, conversations, memories, and shared media are retained while your installation remains active.

When you delete your data (see Section 8), we remove your conversations and associated content from our active systems. Some limited information may be retained where necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, or enforce our agreements, and routine backups may persist for a short period before being overwritten.

7.Your choices & rights

Depending on where you live (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California CCPA/CPRA), you may have some or all of the following rights:

  • Access โ€” request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction โ€” ask us to correct inaccurate information (you can also update most details in the app).
  • Deletion โ€” request that we delete your data, or do it yourself in the app at any time.
  • Withdraw consent โ€” turn off notifications or stop sharing media at any time.
  • Object or restrict โ€” object to or ask us to limit certain processing.
  • Portability โ€” request your data in a portable format, where applicable.
  • Non-discrimination โ€” we will not treat you differently for exercising your privacy rights.

You can manage notification permissions in your device settings at any time. To exercise any right, contact us at contact@codedays-digital.com. We may need to verify your request using your device identifier. EU/UK users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

8.Deleting your data

You are always in control. You can permanently delete your companion and all associated data directly within the app:

  • Open Privacy in the app, scroll to the Danger Zone, and tap Delete Account Data.
  • This permanently erases your conversations, memories, photos, voice messages, and settings from our servers and clears all data stored on your device. This action cannot be undone.

You can also request deletion by emailing contact@codedays-digital.com from your device, and we will process your request.

9.Data security

We take the security of your information seriously and use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it. Data transmitted between the app and our servers is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS, access to stored data is restricted, and we work only with reputable infrastructure and AI providers.

No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, so while we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please use the app responsibly and avoid sharing information you would not want stored.

10.International data transfers

We operate globally and our servers and service providers may be located in different countries, including the European Union and the United States. This means your information may be transferred to, stored in, and processed in a country other than your own, where data protection laws may differ. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses) for these transfers.

11.Children's privacy

Not Alone is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The app is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us at contact@codedays-digital.com and we will delete it.

12.Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Your continued use of Not Alone after an update means you accept the revised policy.
